Failed Inventions

Post by Tanner »

Saw these during a episode of Modern Marvels, thought they were worth a post. Wish I had seen the entire episode.

  • Nuclear Fifle M65 (had to be fired within blast radius)
  • Chauchat (open bullet display)
  • Gyrojet (small rocket propelled bullets, too slow at close range)
  • Revigator (drink radioactive water)
  • Radithor (improve sex life w/ radium, guy took 1,400 and his upper lower jaw fall off)
  • Adrian Shoe Fitting Machine (xray for shoe fitting - lots of xray leekage)
  • Spectro-chrome (cure of ailments by colored lights in the dark, in the nude, during moon phase = $1 million sales)
  • Premier Smokeless Cigarette (tasted bad)
  • Futuro House (UFO looking house - rejected by public)
  • Dymaxion House (Buckminister Fuller - "Dynamix Maximum Tension" - delivered in single tube $65,000)
  • Geodesic Domes (Buckminister Fuller)

Fifle. Often used by the dogs of old ladies that are named "Fifi".
